Sunbelt International recently announced an aggressive development and deployment of alternative energy technologies in Third World countries, which will work to install wind and solar thermal renewable energy projects in countries in Africa.
"It is the strategic objective of Sunbelt International to approach emerging markets with sustainable energy alternatives," said Fang Soo Lui, president of Sunbelt International.
Africa has a large amount of unused green energy sources, which Sunbelt International is looking to take advantage of in the new plan.
According to the World Bank, clean energy projects in Africa have the potential to reduce emissions by 740 million tons of carbon dioxide.
One renewable energy development in Africa is comes from a joint venture by SolarReserve, the Kensani Group and Intikon Energy, which recently announced the South Africa Department of Energy awarded the consortium preferred bidder status for their two 75-megawatt Letsatsi and Lesedi solar photovoltaic projects.
Being given preferred bidder status allows the companies to proceed on their agreement to build solar energy projects in the Free State and Northern Cape provinces of South Africa, with construction scheduled to begin by June 2012.
