Ready Roast Nut Company recently announced the completion of construction on a 472-kilowatt solar photovoltaic system at its facility in Madera, California, which was designed and constructed by Cenergy Power.
"Our new solar PV system is one of many investments Ready Roast has initiated to work as a collaborative partner with our customers to help achieve mutual sustainability objectives," said Audrey Maring, business development representative at Ready Roast Nut. "We believe it is our commitment to our customer, employees and community to reduce our environmental impact."
The new solar system spans 70,000 square feet of roof space and has the potential to create more than 670,000 kilowatt hours of solar energy per year, which would offset more than 90 percent of electricity usage.
Ready Roast Nut expects to save more than $5 million in utility costs over the 25-year life of the solar system.
Another solar PV installation in California is at 20th Century Fox Film's Century City studio complex, which recently chose SPI Solar to install a solar PV system on the facility's roof that would output 230 kilowatts.
